Paul wrote his letter to the Colossians with the purpose of encouraging them to hold firmly to God’s truth. He wanted them to know Christ well enough to escape the delusion and captivity of false teachings. How CAN we fight against worldly ideas that lure our minds away from God? Paul instructed the Colossians to not be merely familiar with Jesus’s words, but rather to let those words live inside of them. As followers of Christ, God calls us to bring His light to our communities. To be anchored in truth even when we are unsure of whether the world’s ideas fit with God’s plan. Dive into the book of Colossians as we deepen our understanding of Jesus as Lord of all, His people and the role of the Church, His identity and work, His sufficiency, and what it means to live in a community as those who are hidden in Him.
Although Genesis is an ancient book, it speaks to some of the biggest questions we have today: Is there a God? If so, what is He like? Why is there evil in the world? Why are we here, and where can we find purpose and hope? In this course, which covers the first 22 chapters of Genesis, participants will see that God created a beautiful world and gave people a noble calling in His creation. It explains how our world was fractured by human rebellion and presents the beginnings of God’s plan to put everything back together.
